Organization Overview
Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) is a U.S.-based NGO with a mission to drive increased adoption of renewable energy. CRS supports market development, education, and policy making that accelerates the decarbonization of the electricity grid and supports leadership action by energy buyers. CRS is an NGO located in San Francisco, CA. It was founded in 1997 to grow the renewable energy market by providing expert assistance and promoting renewable energy market growth.
CRS’s policy team works with state and federal regulators in support of common best practices for clean energy accounting, and manages CRS’s Clean Energy Accounting Project (CEAP), a membership-based think tank that develops standardized, stakeholder-reviewed clean energy and GHG emissions accounting guidance addressing outstanding questions in voluntary and regulatory markets. CRS administers the Green-e® certification program, North America’s leading certification for renewable energy. Green-e® provides buyers and sellers of renewable energy with third-party review and validation that their purchases /products reflecting best practices for environmentally preferrable resources and guaranteeing that claims are unassailable based on GHG Protocol, WRI, CDP, SBTI, and FTC guidelines. Green-e® certifies PPAs, REC purchases, carbon offsets, biomethane purchases, and products manufactured with renewable energy.
