SPLC Welcomes Marc Heisterkamp as New Chief Executive Officer

July 11, 2024 - The Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC) Board of Directors is excited to announce Marc Heisterkamp as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 16. He will be succeeding Kris Spriano, who has served as interim CEO since December 2023, when SPLC’s previous CEO Sarah O’Brien retired after an amazing 5 years of immeasurable service to SPLC.
Marc Heisterkamp has held several leadership roles in high growth and transformative environments, including the U.S. Green Building Council and Northwest Outward Bound School. During his career, Marc has restructured teams for growth, led alignment of business drivers and sustainability across industries, and scrubbed toilets and pulled weeds alongside staff members. He is known as an incrementalist visionary, meaning that he sees the strategy of the future but can also see (and execute on) the steps to making that future a reality.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Kris Spriano for her unwavering leadership as interim CEO over the past 7 months, guiding our organization and staff through this transition," she continued. "I am also very happy to announce that Kris will shift to a new role as Vice President of Programs and Development, remaining an invaluable part of the work ahead."
